The World Loves Me

© By Jeanne L. Mcmichael

I love the world and the world loves me,
So many wonderful things to see.
Give to the world and world gives to me'
It's a great place to be.

It has mountains and valleys, deserts and planes,
Snowcapped peaks and hot summer rains,
Soft gentle breezes and hurricanes,
Rainbows and sunsets and longlegged cranes.

There are rivers and brooks, blue lakes and the sea,
Green grasses and flowers, ferns and tall trees.
There's winter, autumn, summer and spring;
Birds in the treetops that chatter and sing.

The people on earth are interesting too,
Black, brown and white in a colorful hue.
They have a different point of view,
But not so different in the things they do.

I'm in a land of liberty.
It lets me be what I want to be.
Doctor, lawyer or bakerman--
It's all okay with Uncle Sam.

Remember the world was given to us.
Our Heavenly Father loved us so much.
When it was given, it was pristine.
Let's work together to make it as clean.

Sorrow and Hope

© By Sarah Griffin

All Through History
There Has Been
Sorrow

Slavery,Segregation, And War
Have Ruled Our Lives
Made Us Forget
That We Are Equal
Made Us Forget
To Listen
We Have Turned From People Who Want
To Help
But In That Sorrow
There Has Been Hope
Hope For A Change
Or A Better Life
Hope Has Helped To
Make LIfe Bearable
Although There Is Sorrow
There Is Hope
And Hope Is Stronger

Something My Past Didn't See

© By Gaye D. Hight

Looking into the future
something my past didn't see.
The outcome of my experience
has allowed God to transform me.

Longing to be alive
for within I was dead.
Darkness was my company
and each day I dread.

Walking with a lost soul
Understanding nothing at hand
I once had a goal
My dreams turned to sand.

Seeking the face of comfort
To captivate my distressed mind.
can't give up on life
Hope, I must find.

Thank God I found hope
In the midst of the dark
Pursuing to find some light
Until it penetrates in my heart.

Now that I'm blessed with life
and has allowed God to transform me.
I'm excited about the future
Something my past didn't see

Answer It Your Way

© By Amanda Smith

A question my heart so often asks
has finally jumped out to speak at last

An answer I have so often heard
that only contains one little word

One true happiness to conquer all
one true happiness to help us stand tall

And even in the darkest of times
it always helps to light up my life

Such wisdom that this answer contains
helps me feel superior in many ways

I always get the chance to learn
when my question has been heard

Although I hear it all the time
it will never waste away

Everyone has their own individual answer
and none is right or wrong

But the answer that is in my heart
is love and it is there to stay.

Whats this mean

Whats this mean
© By Marie B. Poulos

Stop and smell the flowers
Lay in fields for hours
Feel your feet in the sand
Watch the ocean roll to land.
See the pastures so green
Wondering what this all means
Look to the sky
Only to cry.

Wonder where your life is going.
Sitting there just not knowing.
Wanting answers to your dreams
Wondering if it’s as it seems.

Going around with your feet on the ground.
Wanting to fly, not knowing how high.
Wanting to feel just a little better
When life feels as high as a mound.

Mommy Help

© By Pam A. Simon MS RD LD

There was a day, not long ago,
I felt alone and scared.

I needed help with everything,
But no one seemed to care.

A mom I was, and had to be.
I needed to be strong.

Please help! I prayed,
And then I heard,

"He's been here all along."
I listened to my child's words

And was amazed to hear,
The wisdom of the spirit

Whispering in my ear.
I stared into the child's eyes

And was surprised to see,
The wonder of the heavens

Waiting there for me.

Don't u understand?

© By Michael C. White

Don't you understand?

No one ever promised it was going to be pure and beautiful,
untouched by anger, greed and defamation

No one said you would awake every morning
and love the way life looked.

No one said the girl next door wouldn't break your heart
or the boy down the street wouldn't make you cry.
You know, cry inside, that place where little girls hide their tears.

No one said the memories would go away forever,
or that the fear of further pain would drift away completely.

No one ever said life was fair,
because bad things happen to good people,
and good things happen for bad people.

No one ever said that you would no longer feel
the warm tears drip down your cold cheek when it hurt.
You know. That hurt in your belly
that can never be described to another,
but always understood by another

No one ever said that you would be or could be perfect.

No one ever said that you wouldn't have to abandon your ideas
of what's right and wrong to survive in a world
that we assumed was created for us.

No one ever said that we were entitled to share in and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us daily,
a beauty known to us as the world in which we live.

No one ever told us they would always appreciate what we do,
and the obstacles we had to over come to get to where we are.

It seems that 'NO One' has done a lot of nothing for us in life.

So close your eyes if only for a moment,
take a deep breath, now let it out.

Now your ready all you have to do is place your love, respect and faith in
'Someone' and allow 'No one’ to drift away.

In The Midst of Growing

© By Jamal H. Muhammad

Life is nothing more than a correction,
We are here because of wrong.
Just as we die because of neglection,
We live because we're strong.

A plant grows when it is fed,
As so does a mind.
Without mistakes a person's dead,
Or living life blind.

There's a battle everyday,
That God helps us overcome.
He tells us don't go astray,
No telling what we can become.

We live life at a cost,
And we all have growing pains.
Sometimes it seems like what we have lost,
Far outweighs what we have gained.

Sometimes it seems like what is bad,
Should have been what is good.
If I'm to fall when I am sad,
I should have never even stood.

If I'm to lay on my back,
I'm definitely going to rise.
Even though I only see black,
I'll still open my eyes.

When I look at my reflection,
I'm gonna love what I see.
I'm what is called a blessing,
Kind of a profit to be.

I've overcome so much,
In order to get where I'm going.
I can feel an angel's touch,
And it's helped me with my growing.

I have sure seen a lot,
But I haven't seen a thing.
I guarantee I won't be shocked,
What it is life will bring.

We are only scared to die,
Because of how we live.
Either we are lifted and we fly,
Or we are grounded and we give.

Make sure you grow and fly!

Only You

© By Darnitia R. Mcgriff

A person can make you feel high,
A person can make you feel low.
But only you can decide,
Which way you want to go.

A person can hurt you mentally,
A person can hurt you physically.
But only you can place,
A limit on your abilities.

A person can cause drama,
A person can cause a situation.
But only you can create,
Your own reputation.

A person can make you laugh,
A person can make you cry.
But only you can make,
Decisions for your life.

I guess what I'm trying to say,
That when you're living day to day.
Don't live by what people do,
But live by what you know is true.

Finding Myself

© By Sondra Lewis

I sit and wonder,
If maybe I shouldn't be here.
I look at myself,
And wonder if maybe I deserve to die.
I sit and wonder,
If maybe,
Everyone will be better off without me.
Will I truly ever be happy?
Will I ever have love?
Will I ever love?
Then I look at little Drew,
And I see the innocence and trust.
I know that there is always some kind of love for me.
Such a tiny baby,
When he was born,
Now so long.
I know he loves me
In the way that only children can love.
I look at his mother,
My best friend,
And I see her love for me.
And I know that she will shed tears for me
Should I leave this world?
I look at my mother,
And wonder
What she would do without me
If I leave before her.
Then I look at Sonya,
And know that she to cares for me.
I know that she would feel the pain,
Like know one else,
Because that is her.
Then I once again look at myself.
I see what I can be,
With a little time and patience.
I know now that I have a bright future.
I hope and pray for God's guidance.
I have received it.
I am happy.
I am content.
I am,
Me.
I know that now.
I know that
Sonya will stand next to me,
Making me happy.
Drew will grow
And give me happiness
As he says his first word.
I know that my mother
Will help me through all
The hard ships that are to come.
I know that God and Jesus is next to me,
Whispering words of encouragement
As I walk down my chosen path.
I know that I have truly been blessed.
I have found myself,
Have you?

Purpose of Nothing

© By Randi Perez Helm

Purpose in the Nothing
Days on end repeat themselves
Morning noon and night
It's nothing to get a cup of milk or
To leave on the hall light

Stacks and stacks of building blocks
Strewn about the floor
It's nothing still to pick them up
Like so many times before

And then there is the soothing touch
Or word that brings new light
To a hurting, anxious, growing child
Who simply does not like the night

Cooking, shopping, bills to pay
Folding clothes forever it seems
The rain and snow keeps seasoning by
But dormant lie my dreams

Pointless, dull, routine, the same
My soul withers to empty
Only a tiny, hoping flicker remains
In the tomb my heart surrenders

A voice in the dark rings true and bold
'You have no need to wonder.
Don't you know you carried my name
Each time you fed the hunger?

And when the pain of an injured hand
Filled their eyes with tears
You touched the wounds with healing balm
You brought heaven near

Tasks that had to be done
Routine is your daily fight
It has become a root system of dependency
From which seedlings can take flight

It's all in the thought of things
And know that it is 'something'
You are my vessel of bonds unconditional
When you find purpose in the nothing'

Experience

© By Moses Sturdivant

Experience
Let experience be the golden bell of knowledge

Ringing loudly deep down into your soul
Awakening ever inner-emotion

Making the mind aware of golden buttery smiles and kind words
You have heard on many occasions

When you realize that Sincerity is adjacent to Scarcity
The healing process has begun.

I see you are

© By Partha R. Richardson

The path that I have chosen is not one that I can choose,
It is a straight and level path, that bares no burden upon the walker,

It is a path of let-go, an easy road, if one cares not about, destination, purpose, or even completion.
A one-way ticket to nowhere.

An enigma.
this path chooses its journeymen.

Where no-one journeys forever, and everyone is perpetually frozen. This path chooses you.
I cannot go there.

But, no one can.
I walk with courage in my heart, eyes and mind openly silent.

With an extended soul, I have surrendered.
Now...

I feel loved...
I feel...

I am...
But that is not what I am here to tell you today. I am here to tell you. Remember to never ever forget

SO ARE YOU…

The Girl in the Sun

© By Erin R. Blagman

Look into the sun,
Straight into it,
You will see a little girl.
Her name is a mystery,
Her appearance is a shadow,
But there is something inviting, maybe even sweet about this little girl,
She has a history,
A famous one at that.
She planned to follow her dream
Strait to the moon,
But instead of the moon she landed on the sun
And achieved her dream to the fullest
The only catch is,
No one knows
Where the dream went,
Or where it goes.
Many look for that dream;
They spend all of their lives
Looking for that dream,
But never thinking to make it happen.
The girl just frowns now,
Looking down,
Her skin burnt and chapping.
She frowns because she sees people look for her dream that has already come true.
She can see that any person has something to do,
And they do not have to look for hers,
Why not something new?
However, when you get a smile out of her,
If you can,
The summer's heat seems more forgiving, the winter's clouds seem to split,
Because she saw another little girl in someone's eyes,
Waiting to reach the moon.

I SEE

© By Tammie L. Goodwin

I see your secret glances at the photos on the wall,
I see you look away like it doesn't bother you at all.
I see your hidden sorrow; I know it all to well,
I see your walls rising to enclose what you will never tell.
I see your glowing smile every now and then,
I see more of the watery eyes filled with thoughts of what could have been.
I see you pull away and separate from all that might be real,
I see your pain and heartache that you believe will never heal.
I see your in dependency fighting to be free,
I see the little girl screaming don't leave me.
I see in you, the me I have come to know,
I see the blame you give for me making it so.
I see your inner struggles and the endless fights,
I see you shut your door and escape from the more wrongs then rights.
I see all the truth & honesty that you continue to give,
I see your emotional secrets that you continue to relive.
I see your unasked questions of all the how's & why's,
I see you & your anger look away from me and stare into the skies.
I see the words that you don't say,
I see your disappointment in my weakness that didn't allow for our life to be another way.
I see your worries that the now is what your future holds,
I see you rising above and smashing all our damaged molds.
I see your frustration's that this will never end,
I see your happy tomorrow's with only an occasional, I remember when.
I see a power and strength in you that in me I never knew,
I see you breaking the cycle and letting the past finally be threw.
I see you in a way that a mirror doesn't show,
I see you being stronger and better then you could possibly know.
I see pride, love, and admiration when you come into my view,
I see a better life for all that follows, because you remained true to yourself threw and threw.
I see things in you that you may not believe or care,
I see you doing things you doubt your heart would ever dare.
I see your ability to achieve any goal, dream or desire,
I see you being the daughter that I will forever and ever admire.
I see you Danielle'
All my love forever,
Mom

Journey to Destiny

© By Jeanine Dejesus

A world were life true meaning has little value
Patience has no virtue
Peace and Harmony are non-existent
Hatred and despair is of greatest value
A world were love, sharing and caring should over flow
With giving and trust
An abundance of kindness should be of good for all
But all you have left is a broken spirit and a wounded heart
Is there anyone left who cares? And who you can trust?
With creativity and true expression, peace and harmony
With wisdom gained is strength that is achieved
Use caution to the wind for ignorance is their bliss
They will not know when or how to receive
Continue on your path to find your destiny
Use the utmost caution how it is you proceed
Believe in your intuition it will never lie
And share with all your greatest gifts without condition
Doing this you will find your special friend
A special friend that will guide you to that sacred place
A place that is yours and only yours alone
To meet your child within
Remember to reach out and accept it
Remember to embrace it, and nurture it
For it is young and hurt
But this is the key and all your questions will be answered
And watch to truth unfold
Before you know it your broken spirit and your wounded heart
Will be have peace and harmony
You will have reached the end of your of your journey and have your destiny
Spread your wings and fly
At last you will be set free

Dad

© By Maude E. Flowers

I am here, saith the Lord
Do not despair
Hear what I say, see so much more
No more than you can handle will I give you to bear
Your Dad is now with me
He is doing great
He is full of mirth, we can all see
He keeps my angels smiling and in such a state!
They listen to all his stories
Moses, Jacob and Abraham stand amazed
At all the blessings and glories
This one man so easily phrased
Yes, we blessed him greatly while he was on earth
Now he is here blessing and praising us
Onward Christian Soldiers, he sings with mirth
With a twinkle in his eyes and heart full of trust
He knows we will take care of his family still on earth
He asks that we will comfort them and give them peace
I've known them and cared for them, we said, since birth.
Your Dad is doing well, dear family
so fill your empty hearts with peace.

LOST FATHER

© By Christine A. Cooper

Angels were falling for you did not see
They fell from the heavens with their halos and white wings
the tears and cries for your father to come
wipe your tears for he had none
no more pain or suffering as he did
the pain and agony is how he lived
he looketh down on you with his smile so bright
he knows how you are feeling and soon holds you tight
look to the heavens for you will see
your father rewarded with his halos and white wings
you are special to have a father as you did
happiness and laughter he was your best friend
be grateful for the time you had and always speak of him
talk about the good times and the memories shared within
he can hear your voice and see you that is all he can do
close your eyes and speak of him for your daddy loves you too.

Beauty is

© By Benjamin J. Tengelsen

Beauty is a ten story building.
Beauty is a parking garage.
Beauty is a desert oasis-
If its not some thirsty man's mirage.

Beauty is an empty horizon.
Beauty is no shoes on your feet.
Beauty is a broken umbrella
When tear drops from heaven overflow the dirty streets.

It's in your mind
It's in your mind
Beauty is in your mind
Your own.

Beauty is the voice of my father.
Beauty is the laugh of my son.
Beauty is the plea of a sinner
when he says, All my wicked deeds are done.

The words they put inside your mouth don't mean a thing.
It's in your mind
It's in your mind
Beauty is in your mind-
Your own.

Only the Blind Can See

Only the Blind Can See
© By John A. Van Hees

The air we breathe cannot be seen
And yet it fills our breasts
The stars so high we cannot touch
But we admire them never the less

The depth of the world is oh so shallow
For we judge only what is in sight
If we close our eyes and open our minds
It will be revealed that night is day and day is night

Nothing is what it seems
If you trust in only with your eyes
Open your heart and release the spirit
Leave behind the tears and cries

True joy can only found
If you take the time to look deep within
The outer appearance is only a shell
While the truth is under the skin

Distance in fact is many miles
It is far if that is what you see
But if you look with your heart and not the eyes
I'm as close to you as you are to me
